Row by Row 2016 is in full swing and we have already gotten to meet many of you that have stopped in for a pattern, kit, and/or license plates! It sounds like the theme for this year, "Home Sweet Home" is resonating with many of you. Because we are located in such a unique town, we wanted to focus on Stitch Studio's home of Orange City for our row this year. Orange City is a quaint, little town that is big on Dutch heritage. When you drive through town, you may notice that most of our downtown businesses have Dutch storefronts and our park has a beautiful collection of windmills for you to check out. Feeding off of that Dutch heritage, we took a basic pinwheel block and made it 3-dimensional to mimic the look of windmills. Our fabric is a selection from Moda's V & Co Simply Color collection in oranges, and we called our pattern Windmolen, which is the Dutch word for windmill.
We also have TWO selections for license plates this year! We went with our motto at Stitch Studio "Happy Place" for one and then our second plate says "1 Stitch 2 Sips" for a little extra sass! ;) You can pick up a license plate in store, or we do have them in our Etsy shop for those far away who might be wanting one. You can find them HERE!
A new feature of the Row by Row this year is the 9th Row. The 9th Row is a bonus row that is a way for us as quilters to "give back". The 9th Row pattern is free with the purchase of a 9th Row Kit, and 20% of the proceeds of these kits will be donated to The Bridge, a local transitional housing shelter for women and children. Here is a look at our 9th Row, at the bottom of the picture:
We hope if you are in the area that you will stop in and grab a pattern and kit. We'd love to meet you! If you are looking for lists of all the shops in Iowa participating as well as pictures of their rows and plates, you can find it all HERE!
